1. Operator and purpose
ModuTrail is the operator of this service. The service organizes public trail-route data to help users find hiking and trail-running routes in Korea.
2. Service and fees
The service currently has no membership, payment, advertising, or commercial sales and is provided free of charge. Features may be added, changed, limited, or discontinued after notice where reasonably possible.
- Route search and recommendations by area and distance
- Map display, route geometry, elevation gain, difficulty, and estimated activity time
- Weather forecasts near the route start point and links to external map services
- GPX downloads when the download feature is available
3. Route information and safety
The service is a planning aid, not a navigation, rescue, or safety-guarantee service. Before departure, users must check the official source, weather warnings, access controls, equipment, health, and their own ability.
- Route lines, distances, elevation, difficulty, time estimates, start and finish points may differ from current field conditions.
- Weather, closures, construction, access restrictions, transport, and rescue conditions can change without notice.
- A multi-track GPX may contain alternatives or branches and may not be a single continuous navigation course.
4. Maps, location, and weather
Current-location accuracy depends on the device, browser, network, and terrain. Map tiles, place information, and forecasts are supplied by external providers and may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate. Users must not rely on the service as their only navigation or emergency tool.
5. Sources and licenses
Route data, maps, and public information remain subject to the rights and license terms of their original providers. Attribution and reuse conditions are listed on the Course data sources page and, where applicable, on each route page. Users must comply with those terms when reusing data.
6. GPX files
GPX files are provided only for personal route review and device use within the original source's license. Availability is not guaranteed. Automated, bulk, or repeated downloading intended to reproduce the dataset is prohibited.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Interfering with the service, bypassing security controls, or attempting unauthorized access
- Automated scraping, bulk extraction, redistribution, or creation of a competing dataset contrary to source licenses
- Misrepresenting route information or removing required attribution
- Using the service or data for unlawful, dangerous, or rights-infringing activity
8. Availability and changes
ModuTrail may limit or suspend all or part of the service for maintenance, security, source-policy changes, infrastructure failure, force majeure, or legal compliance. Important changes will be announced through the service where reasonably possible.
9. Limitation of responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, ModuTrail is not responsible for losses caused by field-condition changes, user decisions, device or network failure, third-party services, or inaccuracies in source data. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, including intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
